Lansdowne

Architects Donald Insall were required to design a balustrade for a large ultra-modern property in Cambridge. At first the choice of bronze casting or satin brass handrail being incorporated into such a modern environment didn’t fill us with confidence, but the wonderful Banana Leaf balusters complete with polished and patina finish provide a stunning finish. Having completed the site installation we had to admit that we were wrong on this occasion, the effect is very impressive and still maintains a modern look. Bronze was indeed compatible with this lovely modern house – well done Donald Insall!

Bronze is a wonderful product to work with, it just oozes quality. After casting, the bronze has to be polished and the application of a patina follows, with a final light polish and wax sealer completing the effect.
