Here at Demax, we have a close and tight-knit team where everyone plays a vital role in the design, delivery and installation of some of the highest quality staircases in Europe. Key members are:
Ros Knights | Managing Director
Start Date: June 2011
“Throughout my working career I have been involved in mainly financial accounting and service roles.
Over the last few years I have been able to build upon my accounting and managerial experience and developing my system and computing skills.
As General Manager of Demax since 2011, I have now assumed the role of Managing Director – and along with the rest of the team are committed to Demax’s continued success as one the market leaders in the manufacture of bespoke staircases.”
Jamie Green | Design Director
Start Date: November 2013
“Having completed a HNC in manufacturing engineering, an NVQ in fabrication and welding and a GNVQ in mechanical engineering at Norwich City College, I surrendered my books for a career in CAD. I developed the use of multiple software packages across various industries, I found that the architectural metalwork industry was the most influential and enjoyable.
Since joining Demax I have continued by development, Directing the Design team on all of our projects.
When I’m not glued to a mouse I like to have days out with my wife and son. I enjoy snowboarding, cycling, cooking and box set binging.”
Lee Cheesmur | Project Director
Start Date: July 2012
“When I left school I followed my family into the engineering world with a passion for steel fabrication & metal work. Through the years I have gained a wide variety of skills & knowledge progressing me through to management status in previous employment.
When the opportunity arose to work at Demax I didn’t hesitate – I saw this as an opportunity to leave the mundane and explore a more exciting and prospective company. I now combine the role of General Manager along with Project Director, giving myself greater control of projects from start to finish. I believe I am working at an upward moving company with a truly dedicated team of skilled people to produce some incredible bespoke staircases & metalwork.”
Mark Neave | Project Director
Start Date: February 2013
“I joined Demax in February 2013 following a 26 year career with a local Architectural Metalwork Company. I started my career in Engineering in the Drawing and Design Office as a Draughtsman, progressing to Drawing Office Manager and then onto Design & Construction Manager. I have a strong passion for design and fabrication of Architectural Metalwork and have acquired a wealth of knowledge of design, manufacture and Project Management during my Engineering career.
I pride myself with supplying our Clients and customers with a high quality product and strive to exceed their expectations. I am very pleased to be working at Demax with a skilful and equally passionate team, producing high quality staircases, balustrade and Architectural Metalwork products.”
Arron Martindale | Designer
Start Date: June 2014
“Identifying, creating and appreciating good design has always been a passion of mine. I have formally studied design to degree level graduating in 2010 with a BA (Hons) in Product Design (University of Derby). At University I had the opportunity to develop high level skills in CAD and therefore CAM – I have since developed these skills post-graduation and currently employ them here at DEMAX to create 3D models, generate general arrangement detail and Fabrication drawings.
I’ve now been working at DEMAX now for nearly three years and I have been lucky enough to visit some of the completed staircases I have helped to design. Seeing a finished product that was once just a dream in a client’s mind is one of the most satisfying aspects of my role.”
Alex Fournere | Designer
Start Date: November 2014
“Studying my A levels in Cambridge, Long Rd Sixth Form College; choosing Product Design along with a Double National Diploma in Sports. In my second year I fancied a change swapping Product Design for Architecture.
After a long think, I decided to sign myself up for a 3 year course studying Product Design BA Hons. Loving every second of university living, even the accommodation.
Like all good things it had to draw to a close, joining the real working world. My experience varies from founding my own business designing logos, company branding and various products. I have also helped to design sports car chassis along with heavy plant machinery.
I have always had a design orientated mind, which I believe we can safely say Lego from a young age significantly helped encourage this train of thought. Experience has allowed me to become a more rounded designer, functionality of a product intertwined with aesthetics and good use of ergonomics is a winning combination I believe.”
Sam Hagan | Procurement
Start Date: February 2017
“I am a new member to the Demax team, having joined in February 2017.
I have had various office administration roles over the past 25 years, cutting down to part-time work to have a family.
As my boys are getting older I felt it was time to get back into a more demanding role so when the opportunity came up to join Demax in procurement I jumped at the chance.
I am enjoying being part of the friendly, dedicated team of Demax.”
Stuart Flatt | Marketing Director
Start Date: April 2014
“Originally joining Demax to design and build a new website 3 years ago – I never actually left!
A passion for all things marketing – I currently head up the digital and marketing side of Demax.”
