The Flood Street Project

A challenging spiral staircase in a modern Chelsea property. The staircase comprises a traditional style central column, but also has a modern outer string with glass balustrade and a rebated handrail.

The close confines of the mezzanine and the live wall made this a very small diameter and as a result, the glass was at it's limits for curving tolerances. To ultimately get the glass to fit, several panels were sacrificed at great expense.

As always, a lot was learnt and we did percevere. Thanks to a very patient builder and client, without whom the end result could have been a different picture.
