Staircase Design
Consultation - Preliminary sketches - 2 dimensional CAD - 3D Visual representation
DEMAX has been in the architectural business for 35 years. We have our own Fabrication shop, Architectural Foundry and Joinery Shop. We have a vast knowledge base, with many years of experience and skill within the Demax workforce.
Within the whole consultation process there are three main staircase design stages which take us from initial scoping of ideas, right through to the installation of your new staircase:
Conceptual design (first stage)
This heading covers two stages of the staircase design procedure. Initially, the staircase drawn on your plans may suffer from inaccuracies due to the small scale of the outline sketch. It is advisable that your staircase is re-drawn on CAD to confirm that the best fit is achieved. We often find, particularly with elliptical stairs, that minor adjustments would allow for a more flowing and graceful finished product, at no detriment to the building. By now the initial concept of the stairs will have started its evolution into the final product.
Conceptual design (second stage)
Having completed the initial outline sketch for the staircase design, we then proceed to the design stage. At this point all parties concerned express their aesthetic preferences, either on site or at our showroom where we have numerous examples of past projects and embellishments. We are now ready to create staircase illustrations to the level you require, from simple line drawings through to full 3D visual representation.
Mechanical design
This will prove the integrity and legality of the structure, including engineers structural calculations (if required).
Manufacturing design
This gives us the ability to produce fully scaled CAD drawings which provide an accurate blueprint for both manufacture and installation of the staircase.
During these three design stages and up to final approval, we will keep the client fully advised of any other possible costs which may arise over and above the original quotation.
The same comprehensive service procedure is offered for all work which we undertake at Demax.
