The remit was 'leave it to you - we just want something legal, modern and unusual'.

I think we achieved all three criteria bearing in mind these PLC offices are a refurbished barn conversion. Nothing was square or upright and everything seemed to be inconveniently placed. The ash treads were grooved to receive polished 3mm stainless steel strips to replace standard non slip nosing. The area underneath the staircase behind the frosted glass was utilised as a janitor’s cupboard. The unusual paint finish was by our effect artist.
