Exterior Staircase Projects
We design and manufacture exterior staircases ranging from traditional cast basement stairs to luxury feature staircases to enhance the most elegant garden. We are equally comfortable designing contemporary staircases or traditional staircases. Our flexibility of design styles can culminate in stunning elliptical and spiral staircases, employing materials such as glass, stainless steel, stone and castings. Clients requiring economical and practical stairs are equally as important to us and these can retain both style and quality.
The Flood Street Project
A challenging spiral staircase in a modern Chelsea property. The staircase comprises a traditional style central column, but also has a modern outer string with glass balustrade and a rebated handrail.
The Royal Avenue Project
A lovely sweeping staircase for a modern Chelsea garden. The result is both practical and visually pleasing, a combination not easily achieved.
The South Lodge External Project
An ultra modern external staircase in keeping with the style of the building and property.
The Belsize Park External Project
This staircase was designed and built to fit and blend with into the rear garden concept, there was no question of making do with what ever happened to be available.
The Norfolk Road Project
This gracefully curved staircase was designed to take up minimal space in this courtyard garden.
The Geddes Project
A typical made-to-measure basement staircase with the winding treads that can be incorporated at any position within the stair. Both left and right-handed turns are available in widths from 600mm to 1000mm.
The Cambridge Mansions Project
20M high emergency escape staircase serving a central London penthouse. Craned installation was impractical, so we installed an electric hoist to lift the 3M cage panels and centre column which then allowed us to safely install the treads and hand rail before progressing to the next section. The principle of construction offers effective economical security.
The Brooklands Avenue Project
Demax were comissioned to design and manufacture this impressive external balcony and staircase. The double hipped, lead roof was also part of the remit.
The Twickenham Self Storage Project
An economical, robust and versatile spiral, equally at home in a commercial or domestic situation. It is available in any diameter either as a solid construction or self assembly for confined areas.
The Tregunter Project
Balustrading and stairs were made to fit to the clients' specific requirements in order to make the most of restricted outdoor space in this London garden.
The Guernsey Project
This picture illustrates the 1500mm diameter model from our most popular range of spirals. They are available from 1200mm diameter through to 2500mm diameter, both clockwise and anti-clockwise.
The Haverhill Project
An exterior spiral staircase using plain straight balusters with the addtion of an ankle rail. This combination gives a nice flow to the stairs and removes the bland commercial appearance of most exterior staircases. All cast parts were manufactured our own foundry which gives us flexibility to design complex parts safe in the knowledge that we can manufacture them ourselves. The staircase has been designed to allow the maximum amount of light through to the ground underneath.
The Morton House Project
This staircase is a perfect example of our design capabilities. Our initial site visits and consultations directly with the Architect and Client outlined a nautical theme and their specification for this staircase.
The Rockleaze Avenue Project
A fine example illustrating the flexibility our most comprehensive range of classic QUATERFOIL staircase and decking castings (which are comprehensively illustrated in our Foundry section).
The Bloomfield Project
An exceptionally clean cut and eye catching external staircase design. A wonderful example of how an external staircase can add class and sophistication to a building. Created using DT8 and DT4 Quatrefoil Treads and our popular DC5 single Balustrades (all featured castings can be found in the new downloadable Demax Casting brochure).
