Glass Staircase Projects
The Hall Barn Project
Demax were contacted directly by the client to supply two feature staircases in this contemporary new build property in Peldon, Essex. The project was at an advanced stage when Demax were appointed and a completion date was critical. The entire process was complete in six weeks, from quotation to installation!
The Burgh Castle Project
Given the clients brief remit and general material preferences of stainless steel, glass and white oak, we developed this staircase which has proven to be very popular in varying combinations and specifications.
The Foxmead Project
Following the current contemporary vogue, the client had in mind sweeping lines and minimalist, understated impact. The resulting feature staircase sweeps gracefully from ground floor to landing and the precise lines are continued to dramatic effect on first floor balustrade.
The Hair Salon Project
A London hairdresser wished to expand to a larger premises. Demax was approached to present designs for a staircase to reach the 3.5m high mezzanine floor without encroaching on the first floor space. The design of our stairs acted as a divide between the reception area and the working area of the salon whilst taking up the very minimum of usable floor space.
The Blackheath Project
A thoroughly modern and relatively inexpensive staircase. The brushed stainless steel strings support the hardwood tread from which the glass balustrade is supported.
The Warriner Project
This refreshing style of stairs is ideally suited to the modern home or office. The canter levered glass balustrade is held captive in mild steel strings which are cloaked with highly polished Stainless steel, the wall string is finished with a hard wood trim and feature lighting (by others).
The Plantation Project
Our investment in our illustrative and informative web site has certainly paid dividends on a worldwide basis. This project was for a prestigious development in St Lucia in the West Indies.
The Lodge Project
Variations on this design could include, a stainless steel spine, stone treads and more traditional balustrade arrangement. That said the configurations are endless allowing this staircase to be extremely versatile.
The Kitchens Project
In this modern design of a cantilever stair the string was laser cut 20mm solid steel, on to which the tread supporting brackets were fixed. These were kept as obscure as possible by rebating the tread base. The 20mm string was then secured to the wall and the 45mm thick white ash treads added. The floor to ceiling 16mm toughened glass paneling was supported from structural roof steel and clamped to the ground floor. This minimalist and non-intrusive feature stair creates a very pleasing overall effect.
The Mackintosh Canteen Project
We were pleased to be invited to construct this modern attractive staircase for the Wildebeest chain of restaurants for the Mackintosh Canteen establishment, in the new Chapelfield Mall in Norwich.
The Ludlow Project
This feature staircase dominates the entrance of an Organic Farm Supermarket which promoted healthy living and locally and responsibly produced foods.
The Mount Pleasant Barn Project
Designing a feature staircase within existing confines is always a challenge. This property was particularly restricted in terms of available space for a staircase.
The Willow Cottage Project
Although this staircase appears simple it remains effective. This project consists of two staircases, one positioned over the top of another. The interesting part is that the openings were different sizes and misaligned, and the staircases were to conceal this fact and to appear aligned.
The La Chenaie Project
A staircase solution idyllic for a fashionable business or modern living space. This project combines chunky dark traditional treads (solid oak) with a contemporary slim stringing style (stainless steel), creating a hybrid of two styles. Although normally these two materials would be utilised in different projects, here they come together in harmony and generate a great feature staircase.
The Saltings Project
The photographs should adequately demonstrate the thought and skill employed to enable this project to be sucessfull.
The Ormonde Place Project
Maximum creativity and design skills were required for this staircase simply because of the limited space available in this London town house.
The South Lodge Style Project
This crisp elegant style is very popular here at Demax Designs, with numerous customer enquiries referring to the style each day.
The Neville Avenue Style Project
This modern staircase is a subtle slant on our very popular "South Lodge" style. The omission of stainless steel fixings for the glass gives a feeling of weightlessness.
