The Hair Salon Project
The Hair Salon Project
A London hairdresser wished to expand to a larger premises. Demax was approached to present designs for a staircase to reach the 3.5m high mezzanine floor without encroaching on the first floor space. The design of our stairs acted as a divide between the reception area and the working area of the salon whilst taking up the very minimum of usable floor space.
This was achieved by suspending the intermediate landing off the structural steelwork we installed to extend to the limited mezzanine first floor. The stairs were positioned so there were no low level treads protruding into the salon. The glass and stainless steel balustrade and the obscure glass in the risers gave a modern open feel to the salon. The stairs were constructed to comply with relevant Building Regulations and are classified as a fire escape. We would be pleased to assist in the design of your individual commercial quality staircases.
